Essay: My Best Friend

My best friend's name is Riya. She is fourteen years old and studies in my class. She is a clever student and always completes her homework on time.

Riya is also active in sports and drawing. We go to school together every day and help each other in our studies. After school, we play together in the evening.

She is very kind and explains lessons to me in simple words if I don't understand. Riya is honest and helpful. She respects teachers and elders.

She supports me in difficult times. I feel very lucky to have such a friend. She makes my life happy and she is truly my best friend.

Timber is used to build houses and make furniture. Paper is also made from the pulp of trees. We get many medicines from the fruits, leaves, and roots of trees. Trees are useful in curing many diseases. Birds build their nests in trees. Even animals depend on trees for their food. Trees give us cool shade. People often rest under trees during hot days. Trees make our surroundings beautiful. They keep the environment clean and purify the air. Trees attract rain clouds. Without trees, there would be less rain. They prevent soil erosion by holding the soil with their roots. Trees are our natural wealth. They give us life and support many living beings. Therefore, we must not cut down trees. Instead, we should plant more trees and protect them.
