MY FAVOURITE FESTIVAL (Name-time-people's tradition your preparation-reason for your liking) India is a land of festivals. Many festivals are celebrated in India. Diwali, Uttarayan, Rakshabandhan, Ramzan Eid, Christmas, Holi etc are a few examples of them. The name of my favourite festival is Diwali. It is a festival of lights. It has a great importance in India. This festival lasts for a week. The people light lamps. They make sweets. They wear new dresses. They also worship Devi Laxmi (Goddess of wealth). The merchants perform chopra Poojan'. At night the children enjoy firing crackers. It is a great fun. The day after Diwali is celebrated as the New Year. They go to temples and pray for the New Year. They also visit their relatives and wish them the New Year.

MY FAVOURITE BIRD - PEACOCK (Name - appearance- habitat- nature- qualities – reason for your liking) A peacock is my favourite bird. It is a national bird of India. It has blue feathers. Its feathers are long. It is a big bird. It cannot fly high. It has a crest on its head. It is the most beautiful bird. It lives in forests and farms. It eats insects, snakes, grains and fruits. It hails the rain by dancing gracefully. It is called the farmers' friend because it eats insects and rats that are harmful to crops. The female peacock is called a peahen. I love a peacock for its colourful feathers.

A Tiger (Appearance-habitat-habits-diet- threat to them- the reason for your liking) The tiger is a national animal of India. It is called a big cat. It has yellow body with black stripes. It has bright eyes. It lives in the jungles. It is carnivorous. It hunts for food. It likes to live alone. It kills deer, rabbits and other animals for food. It is called a cannibal. It often enters the villages. It attacks man. The tiger is killed for its skin. I like this animal for its glorious look.
