AN EDUCATIONAL TOUR
JAMNAGAR, MARCH 18: Our school organized an educational tour to Lothal last Sunday. A group of 50 students joined the tour.

The bus started at 6:00 AM. The students visited the Ancient Dockyard and the museum. A guide shared history about the Harappan culture.

The tour was very informative. The bus returned to school at 8:00 PM. Refreshments were provided to everyone.

Timber is used to build houses and make furniture. Paper is also made from the pulp of trees. We get many medicines from the fruits, leaves, and roots of trees. Trees are useful in curing many diseases. Birds build their nests in trees. Even animals depend on trees for their food. Trees give us cool shade. People often rest under trees during hot days. Trees make our surroundings beautiful. They keep the environment clean and purify the air. Trees attract rain clouds. Without trees, there would be less rain. They prevent soil erosion by holding the soil with their roots. Trees are our natural wealth. They give us life and support many living beings. Therefore, we must not cut down trees. Instead, we should plant more trees and protect them.
