MY FAVOURITE BIRD - PEACOCK

A peacock is my favourite bird. It is a national bird of India. It has blue feathers. Its feathers are long. It is a big bird. It cannot fly high. It has a crest on its head. It is the most beautiful bird. It lives in forests and farms. It eats insects, snakes, grains and fruits. It hails the rain by dancing gracefully. It is called the farmers' friend because it eats insects and rats that are harmful to crops. The female peacock is called a peahen. I love a peacock for its colourful feathers.

Trees are useful in curing many diseases. Birds build their nests in trees. Even animals depend on trees for their food. Trees give us cool shade. People often rest under trees during hot days. Trees make our surroundings beautiful. They keep the environment clean and purify the air. Trees attract rain clouds. Without trees, there would be less rain. They prevent soil erosion by holding the soil with their roots. Trees are our natural wealth. They give us life and support many living beings. Therefore, we must not cut down trees. Instead, we should plant more trees and protect them.
